In the fabulous room 2, we have been learning about an art called Zentangle. Here are some patterns: Tipple, Florz, Oke Root, Mist, Cresent moon, Hilliborough and Static. We had to practice our artwork so that when we do the real thing it'll be good. We did short designs on a small piece of paper to practice. I hope you like mine, here is my artwork:

Practically we had to make a room using 3D shapes. Most of us did different things,

In room 2 we are doing geometric patterns. 
Mr kinsey, (I don't know if I've mentioned our second teacher), had given us a sheet of paper that had a perfect circle on it. We had to use protractors, rulers and colours. 
We used the colours for the end. We had to use 36 out of 360 degrees for each line to join up. Here is my geometric pattern:

Worm Explaination

This is my Worm Explanation. Room 2 has been working on this for awhile. I'm really proud of my work, I like the drawings. My friends have done really good to. We've worked as a team to remind each other what you feed worms and what you don't, what they live in and how they make burrows. A lot of us have worked hard learning what the worms do, lets just say we've learnt a lot about them. We made our own discs that show and explain.

Matariki is the seven brightest stars

You can only see them in late May or June early dawn

If they are bunched together, it means this year will be hard for our food to harvest.

If they are clear and spaced, this means it will be a good year to harvest our food.

Matariki actually means ‘Eyes of god’ In Maori its called mata ariki, or its called ‘little eyes’ mata riki. I call it matariki.

How is matariki really created?

Are matariki really stars? They could be anything.

Well.. that's what I think..

Long ago, there was four tribe’s. They were once friends, but now foes. The winter winds started this. Everyone was cold, hungry and close to death. They all went mad, every single one. They fought over food. One day, there was a boy, who had a clear mind. He didn't like the fighting. He thought it was a waste of blood being spilled and deaths for nothing. He saw all the stars at night and thought maybe they were lost souls. He prayed every night and cried. One night, he cried again and all of a sudden his tears lifted up into the starry sky. They became the brightest seven stars there. The seven stars bring peace and lots of food in the forest. No more fighting.
