My Starry, Starry, Very Pretty, Starry, Night

Okay, So the class was told to that we are going to do some art. The art will be called, Starry Night. I decided to make not just a city, and a tree.. But I wanted to do something different, something No-one in the class had done, Yet. So I decided to do a light-house, Its on the top of that snowy mountain-> I also wanted to do a lonely cabin no where near the city. So I put it underneath the light-house mountain, on the part which is not snowy.. but on the same hill. Then, I liked my Starry night, but something was missing, there was behind the city a bare, alone, area. I put a camp, right there, with a camp fire. The shooting stars and everything was perfect. I hope you like my art work, We used Black paper, glue, scissors. We used yellow, green, blue, orange and red paper for the city lights. Then the background is painted, we double loaded. Egg adventures!

YIPPEE! EGG ADVENTURES!

On Tuesday, Mrs Cameron told us that we were doing EGG SITTING, actually.. we are the egg parents. I was so excited, I really liked looking after an egg for the week. Lilly Rose Rainbow. Yeah, gotta have a rainbow. :) Hope you enjoy reading!

Thursday: Lilly’s Diary-	Lilly is happy at school in her warm, comfy bed,  Lilly has black messy hair, I should wash and brush it. Keisha is playing with her.
Friday: Lilly’s Diary-	Lilly is looking at herself in her mirror, (I told her to wash and brush her hair). I think that she’s glad she did! Lilly hasn't been playing with other eggs for a while..I hope I can cheer her up! Lilly is also egg-cited to hang out with Charlotte today. Charlotte and Lilly are cheeky. I'm happy that my egg has good friends.

Hello, A few days ago Mrs Cameron

told us we were going to do a quick write.

I was excited, of course. We needed to write 

about what is happening in this picture that we all got given.

Auckland Dream

I looked below me. This was it. This was my chance, a change for life.. at least for a few minutes or hours. Anyway, my hands were shaking with excitement. Legs aching. Throat was tight. The clouds ran along the sky, boats silently sailing along the clear blue wavy water. My family was at home, not knowing that I'm here but.. they're not coming after me. At least, not yet.

I took a deep breath, I was going to jump. I felt my blood pulsing inside me. I started to climb this small ladder which was attached to the dock. I was high above water, I looked down, water splashed against the wooden bars that were holding the dock.

I took another deep breath and jumped.. I felt that moment, soaring in the air.. Splash. I shook my head, now that moment was over. It was time to move on, salty water rushed through me. I was in a reef now, I forced myself to open my eyes. Wow. The reef seemed to float on the sand, Fish glided through the water. I followed a school of medium sized fish, they were cat fish.

All of the sudden the sand seemed to drop away, like going down a hill. I went down, fish still went forward, they weren't coming with me. I looked around. “Wow” I thought in my head. Swish. Something was here, watching me. It was hard to tell which bush, or coral had something behind it. All of the coral and seaweed swished, floated and swayed. Then.. a SHARK came. It swivelled through the water, becoming one of the sea. I widened my eyes. I needed to get out of here. I also needed air to breath.. but if I went up, the shark would come after me. Die of breath, or, die of the shark? WHATEVER! I NEED TO BREATH!

I swam up to the surface. OH NO. I was about 50 MM away from land, wait a minute.. I'm in the feeding spot! No wonder there was a shark! No, about five sharks! They were circling me, well, some of them.

“HEY!” someone yelled. “GET OUT OF THE WATER!!” The sound was a man voice. “How!?” I blubbered, coughing the salty water. “Grab my hand!”. Now a ladies voice shouted. I turned around. There was a lady, blonde hair. I grabbed her hand and she pulled me out of the water. “Thank you!” I gasped, taking the air. “What where you doing?” The man said. “I went for a swim, I followed some fish and then there was this hill, like, sandy hill going downward. I went and realised that there was a shark there” I explained. “Come on, let’s get you home” The lady said and drove toward the dock. “Thank you” I smiled.

Mrs Cameron told the class that we were going to make a poem.

I was so excited! It feel's as if I haven't had to make a poem in ages! Mrs Cameron said we needed comma's, short powerful sentences and no words that aren't necessary for using. Here is my poem, it was so awesomely fun!

🍘 Spinning World🍣

The crowd whisper’s for us to start.

I look around, My nerves rising.

       WHISTLE BLOWS

The ball plungers toward me,

Wobble,

Spin,

Gain,

Throw.

I bounce throw the ball,

It twisted in the air,

Hitting the ground then rebounding toward my team.

I raced in front of the girl holding the ball,

She passes the ball toward me.

Twisted,

Spun,

I raced toward the ball so my opponent couldn't steal my prey.

I turn

See my chance,

Eyes burn into my back,

I shoot,

It wobbles on top of the hoop

                          And then,

                                    And then,

                                             And then..

it falls.

Book Review

Book review

Book title and author: Shadow Magic by Kitty Wells.

Main idea of story: Maddy’s cousin Chloe is planning to run away.

Main character’s in story: Maddy, Nibs and Chloe.

Something unique and interesting about the storybook for readers to know: The cats are ceramic and small but turn alive and all of them put together make ML for Maddy Lloyd.

Main idea of storybook: Chloe is running away and Maddy and Nibs need to stop the problem.

Where does the story take place: Maddy’s house, school and secondary school.

When did the story take place: In the school holidays.

Something unique about the time/ place in which the story takes place and how it affects the character’s: Chloe has moved a lot of times but this time when she makes a new friend, she thinks it’s ok to stay.

Main characters of the storybook: Chloe, Maddy, Jack, Maddy’s best friend Rachel,Maddy's mum, Maddy’s dad,Chloe’s mum, Chloe’s dad.

What relationships like between characters in the storybook: First mean then it get’s happier.

Does something important or meaningful to the story happen to a of between characters? Describe it in one sentence: Nibs and Maddy got Chloe to come home after when she almost ran away.

Favorite part of the book and why: When Chloe be’s nice to Maddy, because of happy ending’s.

Do you think other kids would enjoy this book and why? Answer: Yes but only girls that like cats.

Was the storybook entertaining, educational, amusing and why? Answer: It was entertaining because of the cats powers and it was amusing because Nibs was funny.

Why did you enjoy or not enjoy reading this storybook? Answer: I enjoyed it because of the cats powers.

Would you recommend other kids to read this book? Answer: Yes!
